Job Description

JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

Our client located in RTP is looking for a Licensed Journeyman Electrician to lead the Manufacturing team overseeing their product line. This person will need to be well versed in Power Wiring, Controls Wiring and needs to have an extensive background in industrial and commercial electrical installations

JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician (or Master Electrician)
  • 10+ years of industrial/heavy commercial electrical installations
  • Power Wiring experience (Must have all - 0-600V, AC/DC, single/three phase, 3-wire, 4-wire, equipment grounding, neutral bonding)
  • Controls Wiring experience (Must have all- 0-24v, 4-20mA, twisted shielded pairs, CAN communications)
JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that our equipment is being designed and built according to engineering documents, manufacturing standards, our UL and other required code standards specifically NEC.
  • Assists shop personnel in the following areas:
  • Interpretation of electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Installation of control and power wiring, conduit runs, cable trays, junction boxes, power panels, transformers, terminations, and other electrical equipment.
  • Assisting in placement of electrical gear to maintain proper working clearances and other requirements of the NEC
  • Coordinates with Power Generation Engineering team for the engineering and documentation of the electrical systems such as:
  • House Power Systems: Distribution panels, transformers, wire sizing, conduit fill, conduit runs, final wiring terminations, junction box placement, battery chargers, fixture placement (lights, receptacles, switches, smoke detectors, natural gas detectors). Observing proper working clearances per NEC.
  • Weather Package Controls: Jacket water heaters, battery heaters, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) heaters, heat trace, motor operated dampers, space heaters, HVAC systems, exhaust fans, thermostats, humidistats, and timers.
  • Generator Controls: Voltage sensing, voltage regulators, current sensing, fuel leakage alarms, engine communications, speed bias, voltage bias, fuel and DEF level sensing, circuit breaker controls and wiring.
  • Power Wiring: 0-600V, AC and DC, single and three-phase wiring, 3-wire and 4-wire, equipment grounding, neutral bonding.
  • Controls Wiring: 0-24V, 4-20mA, twisted shielded pairs, CAN communications.
  • Specifying electrical equipment and components
  • Improves designs for manufacturability, reliability, field maintainability.
  • Identifies and executes processes that may reduce the overall cost to manufacture, install and operate our electrical infrastructure systems located in our Power Generation Products.
