Job Description

The Select Group currently has an opportunity with an organization renowned for engineering transformative technology solutions for some of the world's most visionary companies. We're currently on the hunt for client-centric technical visionaries that have a thirst for solving real world problems with technology. As a Pre-Sales Engineer (R/S), you'll serve as a key contributor to the pre-sales process, acting as the technical lead for the regional sales team. The ideal candidate should be local to the Charlotte, NC area, and open to 80% remote work, and up 20% travel (as needed)!


  • 7+ years of hands-on IT experience
  • 3+ years of experience performing in a Consultant or Architect role
  • Good business understanding including costing, P&L and pricing
  • Core Cisco Networking (Nexus, ISR, iWAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Fully knowledgeable and able to design, plan, and support deployment efforts around R/S solutions
  • Experience working with Cisco technologies
  • CCIE or CCNP with significant experience
  • Work remotely and travel up to 20%

  • Support the assigned account team, providing technical expertise and credibility for network solutions
  • Conduct customer presentations on value proposition and technical solution set for assigned accounts and focus areas
  • Assist sales account managers with overall account planning as it relates to the technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity development
  • Complete technical sections for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses for assigned accounts
  • Function as a liaison between the sales team and professional services organization to vet solution recommendations and to complete technical portions of the SOW, as appropriate
  • Develop solution architecture and detailed line item configurations/bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Develop solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended solution(s)
