Job Description



  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 2-7 years of experience with Reliability experience
  • STEM Bachelor's Degree
  • Candidate should possess experience in system-level hardware and software engineering processes, modeling and analysis with an emphasis on SW Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM), including: Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs); Probabilistic Reliability Analysis (PRA); SW Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS); Familiarity with software reliability processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and techniques as well as familiarity with the DoD RAM guide and MIL-STDs related to RAM: Monte Carlo simulation, discrete event simulation, general simulation theory; Relational database and programming languages; Ballistic missile defense systems; Industry standard RAM analysis software tools such as Raptor and or Relex.
  • Experience in various roles including problem definition, analysis approach definition, system architecture definition, risk and opportunity management, and decision analysis.
  • Understanding of the resolution of significant problems associated with the SW Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Supportability of the system across technical, schedule, and cost boundaries


  • Missile Defense Experience
  • Experience with architecture modeling tools (Rational System Architect, Rational Software Architect, Magic Draw


  • The Engineer Systems 3 will provide support for the Specialty Engineering team with primarily Software (SW) RAM tasks.
  • This assignment also includes interfacing across multiple IPTs and interfacing with the customer
  • Primary role of this position includes working as part of a team: planning, analyzing, estimating, SW RAM modeling & simulations and reporting to all levels from peers to senior decision makers on the system's SW RAM performance.
  • Must interface with: System SW Architecture design teams to provide feedback on SW design reliability; operations and support organizations to aid in optimizing logistics support resources; and leadership to characterize expected system performance relative to SW requirements.
  • The performance of these tasks will identify deficiencies of, and potential improvements to the existing IBCS SW System design relative to expected capabilities and requirements.
