Job Description


This is a role focused on testing real-time connectivity for onboard devices in trains, buses, other mobile assets and for smart cities. This includes applications like passenger Wi-Fi, CAD/AVL, infotainment, video- and sensor-based safety applications, and telematics. Edge gateways also run third-party applications and optimize connectivity through dynamic load balancing to lower cellular costs.


  • 5+ years Quality Assurance experience with automation testing
  • 5+ years experience with Linux systems and performance testing on diverse hardware, client/server, and web-based applications
  • 5+ years experience with performance, recovery, and reliability testing
  • 5+ years scripting experience with at least one of the following: Python, Perl, DOS/Shell, Selenium, iPerf, or Java
  • 3+ years experience of CI/CD with Jenkins, Gerrit, Docker, or Ansible


  • Directly responsible for coordinating and supporting the planning and execution of all QA/testing activities providing quality assurance oversight related to project-related deliverables, ensuring timeliness and completeness balanced with risk management
  • Architect the test design, implementation, and execution of manual, automated, functional, system integration, reliability, security, and performance testing on Linux systems (and some UI)
  • Work on Linux system upbringing - file system, startup scripts, what demons are running, etc.
  • Write script that would run on the network install repeatedly to check for issues
  • Act a technical mentor for a small but seasoned QA engineering team who love to move fast and innovate
  • Able to be a QA project lead of across the development life cycle and work directly with QA Manager and other members of the development, project management and business teams to achieve project goals
  • Write or assist in the development of test related documentation to include test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts and reports
  • Monitor and report on quality (defect, issue, risk) and Test Execution Reporting
  • Review and provide feedback on project documentation as a basis for planning and creating testing documentation and product understanding
  • Actively find ways to improve testing methodologies, models and process
  • Participate Incident Management, Root Cause Analysis, and High Risk reviews
  • Work with parties in multiple geo locations in real time which will require occasional off-hour communication and sync up
