Job Description


The Select Group is currently seeking a Technical Writer for one of our clients located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh! The ideal candidate will have prior experience with technical writing in a software environment. This individual will be responsible for creating documents, manuals, guidelines, and policies. If you are passionate about technical writing and want to work for a great innovative company, this role may be a fit for you!


  • Engage in projects to learn the technical solution and processes in order to develop supporting documentation.
  • Work with the IT teams, external vendors, and key business users to understand documentation needs.
  • Maintain and provide administration of a documentation repository, ensuring that the appropriate security and backup measures are in place.
  • Be an authority on documentation practices, and provide guidance to other technical writers on the team.
  • Perform reviews and audits to confirm technical documentation is accurate and up to date.


  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and software development practices.
  • A motivated and driven individual, with the ability to work well independently.
  • Experience with documentation relevant to ISO, KCS or ITIL is a huge plus.
